Burmi
Burmi is a site in northeastern Nigeria where the last independent Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Attahiru I, was killed in battle with British forces in July 1903. He had refused submission and retreated eastward in a hijra recalling dan Fodio's foundational migration. His death marked the end of the Sokoto Caliphate's formal sovereignty.
