Calleva Atrebatum
Calleva Atrebatum was an Iron Age and Roman town at Silchester in Hampshire, in southern England. It began as an oppidum of the Atrebates in the late 1st century BCE and became the tribe's civitas capital after the Roman conquest. Abandoned in the early Middle Ages and never built over, it is one of the most fully excavated Roman towns in Britain, and its walls still stand.
