Cayuga people
The Cayuga are an Iroquoian people, one of the five original nations of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy, whose homeland lay around Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York. They held ten of the fifty chiefly titles in the confederacy's Grand Council. Most sided with Britain in the American Revolution and lost their lands, and today they live at Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario, in New York and in Oklahoma.
