Central Greece
Central Greece, in Greek Sterea Ellada, is the historical and geographical region of mainland Greece north of the Gulf of Corinth and south of Thessaly and Epirus, including Attica and Boeotia in traditional usage. It was one of the main areas of the Greek War of Independence, and with the Peloponnese and the Cyclades it formed the original Greek state recognised in 1830–1832.
