Château de Ripaille

Also known as Ripaille

The Château de Ripaille is a castle and former priory near Thonon-les-Bains on the southern shore of Lake Geneva, in Savoy. The house of Savoy built a residence there in the late fourteenth century, and in 1434 Duke Amadeus VIII retired to it with a small group of knights, founding the Order of Saint Maurice, before the Council of Basel elected him antipope as Felix V in 1439.
