Chisumphi
Chisumphi is the high god of the Chewa people of Malawi and neighbouring parts of Zambia and Mozambique, associated with rain and fertility. His cult was served by rain shrines, the most important at Msinja, staffed by priestesses and spirit wives. The shrines gave religious backing to the authority of the Maravi rulers.
