Citânia de Briteiros

Citânia de Briteiros is an Iron Age hillfort near Guimarães in northern Portugal, one of the largest settlements of the castro culture of the Callaeci. It had paved streets, round stone houses, defensive walls and a bathhouse with a carved stone slab, the Pedra Formosa. Excavated from 1875 by Francisco Martins Sarmento, it was occupied into the Roman period.
