Citarum River
The Citarum River is the longest river in West Java, Indonesia, flowing from the highlands south of Bandung to the Java Sea east of Jakarta. Sundanese tradition, chiefly the Carita Parahyangan, holds that around 669 the lands of Tarumanagara were divided along it, the Sunda Kingdom taking the west and Galuh the east. Its lower basin holds early sites such as the Buddhist temples of Batujaya.
