Ciudad Perdida
Ciudad Perdida ('Lost City'), known to the Indigenous peoples as Teyuna, is an archaeological site in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, northern Colombia. Founded around 800 CE, it was a major Tairona town with about 170 stone terraces linked by stairways and paved paths. Abandoned during the Spanish conquest, it was found by looters in 1972, excavated by archaeologists from 1976, and is now reached by a trek of several days.
