Corruption

It drained revenues, weakened armies and administration, and eroded the legitimacy of rulers in the eyes of their subjects. Examples include the eunuch and official abuses of the late Han Dynasty and Ming Empire, the venality of the late Qing Empire and the corruption of late Song Dynasty administration.
