Crown of the Kingdom of Poland

Also known as Crown of Poland, Corona Regni Poloniae

The Crown of the Kingdom of Poland was the term for the Polish state as a whole, distinct from the person of the king, which developed in the fourteenth century. After the Union of Lublin in 1569 it denoted the Polish part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, as opposed to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and it received Podlasie, Volhynia, Kiev and Bracław from Lithuania.
