Cunipert

d. 700 · 7th century · Also known as Cunincpert

Cunipert was King of the Lombards, co-ruler with his father Perctarit from 680 and sole king from 688 to 700. Early in his reign the rebel duke Alahis seized Pavia, but Cunipert defeated and killed him at Coronate in 689. His reign was otherwise peaceful; at a synod in Pavia in 698 he helped end the Three Chapters schism in northern Italy.
