Alahis

d. 689 · 7th century

Alahis was a Lombard Duke of Trent, and later of Brescia, who rebelled against King Cunipert. In about 688 he seized the royal capital Pavia while Cunipert fled, but his harsh rule turned many Lombards against him. Cunipert returned, and Alahis was defeated and killed at the Battle of Coronate on the Adda in 689. Paul the Deacon tells the story in his History of the Lombards.
