Czechoslovak People's Army
The Czechoslovak People's Army was the name of the armed forces of communist Czechoslovakia from 1954 to 1990. Organised on the Soviet model and controlled by the Communist Party, it formed part of the Warsaw Pact's front line facing NATO. It was not used against the Warsaw Pact invasion of 1968 and was renamed the Czechoslovak Army after the Velvet Revolution.
