Dibër

Also known as Dibra

Dibër is a mountainous region of eastern Albania along the Black Drin, bordering North Macedonia. Historically it formed a wider district, Dibra, centred on the town of Debar, which now lies in North Macedonia. The Kastrioti family, Skanderbeg's ancestors, held villages in the Dibër area in the 14th century. Peshkopi is the main town of the Albanian county today.
