Dimapur
Dimapur is the largest city of Nagaland in north-east India, on the Dhansiri river. It was the capital of the Dimasa Kachari kingdom until the Ahoms sacked it in 1536. The ruins of the old city include a brick gateway and groups of carved stone pillars with mushroom-shaped tops. It is now the main commercial and transport hub of Nagaland.
