Dives-sur-Mer

Dives-sur-Mer is a small town in the Calvados department of Normandy, at the mouth of the Dives. In the summer of 1066 Duke William of Normandy assembled his invasion fleet there before moving it to Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and crossing to England. The names of William's companions in the conquest are inscribed in its church.
