Eamont Bridge
Eamont Bridge is a village in Cumbria, England, just south of Penrith on the River Eamont. On 12 July 927 the English king Æthelstan received there the submission of Constantine II of Scotland, Owain of Strathclyde and other northern rulers, according to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. The meeting is often taken as the moment when a single kingdom of England was first established.
