Eilhard Lubinus

Eilhard Lubinus was a German scholar and professor at the University of Rostock who taught poetry, mathematics and theology. Commissioned by Duke Philip II of Pomerania, he travelled through the duchy and produced the great map of Pomerania published in 1618, decorated with views of towns and the arms of noble families. It remained the standard map of the region for more than a century.
