d. 1352 · 14th century · Also known as Alaeddin Eretna

Eretna was a Uyghur commander in the service of the Ilkhanate who founded the Eretnid state in central and eastern Anatolia. Serving under the Ilkhanid governor Timurtash, he ruled the province after Ilkhanid power collapsed and declared himself sultan, ruling from Sivas and later Kayseri. He defeated a Chobanid army at Karanbük in 1343, and his descendants ruled until about 1380.
