Kayseri
Kayseri is a city in central Anatolia, Turkey, at the foot of the extinct volcano Erciyes. As Caesarea Mazaca it was the capital of the kingdom of Cappadocia and the see of Basil the Great. Taken by the Danishmendids and then the Seljuks of Rum, it gained many mosques, madrasas and caravanserais, and it remains a major commercial centre.
