Fadl ibn Rabi'a

Fadl ibn Rabi'a was a Bedouin emir of the Jarrahid family in Syria in the early 12th century. He shifted his allegiance between the Crusaders, the Seljuks and the Fatimids as circumstances changed, keeping his tribe's power on the desert fringe. His descendants led the Al Fadl tribe, whose chiefs served the Ayyubids and Mamluks as amirs of the Syrian Bedouin.
