Falun Mine

Also known as Falun copper mine

The Falun Mine was a copper mine in central Sweden, worked for many centuries. In the seventeenth century Sweden was the world's largest copper producer, and the Falun mine's output was for decades the largest single source of revenue for the Swedish Empire. The exhaustion of its richest ores later reduced this income.
