Forteviot

Forteviot is a village in Strathearn, Perthshire, Scotland, that was a royal centre of the Pictish and early Scottish kings. The Pictish king Constantín son of Fergus is commemorated on the nearby Dupplin Cross, and Kenneth mac Alpin died at the royal residence there in 858. Excavations have revealed a major prehistoric ritual complex and an early medieval cemetery, and a carved stone arch from a royal church survives.
