Four Year Plan

1936 · 20th century

The Four Year Plan was an economic programme launched by Nazi Germany in 1936 under Hermann Göring to make the country ready for war within four years. It sought self-sufficiency in raw materials, building plants for synthetic fuel and rubber and exploiting low-grade iron ore, and it gave Göring wide control over the economy at the expense of Hjalmar Schacht.
