Giano della Bella
Giano della Bella (died c. 1306) was a Florentine nobleman who became a leader of the popular party against the magnates. As a prior he promoted the Ordinances of Justice of 1293, which excluded the magnate families from the priorate and created the office of Gonfaloniere of Justice to enforce penalties against them. His enemies forced him into exile in 1295, and he died in France.
