Gohil
The Gohil are a Rajput clan of Gujarat who, according to tradition, entered Saurashtra from Marwar in the 13th century. Their senior line ruled Bhavnagar State, and junior branches held Palitana, Lathi, Vala and other small Kathiawar states until Indian independence. Palitana's Gohil rulers controlled Shatrunjaya, one of the holiest Jain pilgrimage sites.
