Göktürk Khaganate
The Göktürk Khaganate was a Turkic empire founded by the Ashina clan in 552, which came to dominate the Eurasian steppe from Manchuria to the Black Sea. It allied with the Sasanian Empire to destroy the Hephthalites and later split into eastern and western khaganates. It inherited and transformed the steppe traditions of the Xiongnu.
