Gulating
The Gulating was the law assembly of western Norway, which met at Gulen near the mouth of the Sognefjord from the Viking Age. It served the districts of the west coast, and its law, the Gulating Law, is one of the oldest Norwegian law codes, surviving in a 13th-century version. The assembly later moved to Bergen, and Gulating is now the name of one of Norway's appeal courts.
