Hamamatsu
Hamamatsu is a city in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on the Pacific coast of the former province of Totomi. Tokugawa Ieyasu moved his base there in 1570 and rebuilt its castle, holding it through his wars with Takeda Shingen until he moved to Sunpu in 1586. In modern times it became an industrial centre known for musical instruments and motorcycles, home to Yamaha and Suzuki.
