Herbert Baker

Sir Herbert Baker was an English architect who worked mainly in South Africa and India. In South Africa he designed the Union Buildings in Pretoria, and in New Delhi he worked with Edwin Lutyens, designing the two Secretariat buildings and the circular Parliament House. In Britain his works include the rebuilding of the Bank of England, criticised for destroying much of John Soane's earlier building.
