House of Löwenstein-Wertheim

The House of Löwenstein-Wertheim is a German noble family descended from Elector Frederick I of the Palatinate and his morganatic wife Clara Tott, whose son Louis became count of Löwenstein. Through marriage it inherited the County of Wertheim on the Main in the late 16th century, and it later split into a Protestant and a Catholic line, both raised to princely rank.
