Person
Iltani
Iltani was a queen of Karana in northern Mesopotamia in the 18th century BCE, wife of King Aqba-hammu, who ruled as a vassal of Hammurabi of Babylon. Some 200 tablets from her archive, found at Tell al-Rimah, record her management of textile workshops, grain, staff and estates and her letters with relatives, giving a rare view of a royal woman's economic role.
