Insein
Insein is a township in the northern part of Yangon, Myanmar. In 1949, early in the Karen insurgency, Karen forces held Insein for more than three months, within a few miles of the capital, before government troops drove them out. It is known for Insein Prison, built under British rule, which held many political prisoners under military rule.
