Ipswich
Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk, England, at the head of the Orwell estuary. Founded in the early 7th century as a trading settlement under the East Anglian kings, it is one of the oldest continuously occupied towns of Anglo-Saxon England, and its kilns produced Ipswich ware, the first mass-produced pottery of the period. It later prospered as a port for wool and cloth.
