Italic League

1454–1455 · 15th century

The Italic League was an alliance concluded in 1454–1455 by Venice, Milan and Florence, and joined by the Papacy and the Kingdom of Naples, following the Peace of Lodi. Its members promised to defend one another and the existing borders for twenty-five years. It helped preserve a balance of power in Italy for some four decades, until the French invasion of 1494.
