Jaghjagh River
The Jaghjagh River is a tributary of the Khabur that rises in the Tur Abdin hills of south-eastern Turkey and flows south past Nusaybin and Qamishli into north-eastern Syria. Known in antiquity as the Mygdonius, it watered one of the most densely settled parts of ancient Upper Mesopotamia, with sites such as Tell Brak and Tell Barri, ancient Kahat, along its course.
