Jinchuan campaigns
The Jinchuan campaigns were military expeditions of the Qing Empire in the eighteenth century against the Jinchuan chieftaincies in the mountains of western Sichuan. Fought in difficult terrain against fortified stone towers, they proved extremely costly. They were counted among the Qianlong Emperor's great campaigns, marking the maximum projection of Qing military power.
