Julamerk
Julamerk, in Kurdish Colemêrg, is the historic name of the town of Hakkâri in the mountains of south-eastern Turkey, above the Great Zab valley. It was the seat of the Kurdish emirs of Hakkari from the late Middle Ages until the Ottomans abolished the emirate in the 1840s. Its castle commanded routes through a land of Kurdish tribes and Assyrian Christian communities.
