d. 1311 · 14th century

Kanhadadeva was the Chahamana (Chauhan) king of Jalor in Rajasthan at the turn of the 14th century. He resisted Alauddin Khalji of Delhi, whose armies took Siwana in 1308 and then besieged Jalor, capturing it in 1311; Kanhadadeva and his son Viramadeva were killed. His stand is celebrated in the 15th-century epic Kanhadade Prabandha.
