Kaykhusraw II

d. 1246 · 13th century · Also known as Ghiyath al-Din Kaykhusraw II, Kay Khusraw II

Kaykhusraw II was sultan of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum from 1237 to 1246, succeeding his father Kayqubad I. His reign saw the Babai revolt of Turkmen in 1239–1240 and, in 1243, a crushing defeat by the Mongols under Baiju at the Battle of Köse Dağ, after which the sultanate became a Mongol vassal and lost its independence.
