Kouklia
Kouklia is a village in the Paphos District of south-western Cyprus, built on the site of Palaepaphos, Old Paphos, the capital of one of the ancient city-kingdoms of the island. Its sanctuary of Aphrodite was one of the most famous in the Greek world. Excavations have revealed the sanctuary, Bronze Age and Iron Age tombs and the Persian siege mound of 498 BCE.
