19th century BCE · 19th century BCE

Kudur-Mabuk was an Amorite chief of the Yamutbal tribe in the region east of the Tigris, whose name is Elamite. Around 1834 BCE he took control of Larsa and installed his son Warad-Sin as king, followed by another son, Rim-Sin I, while he himself kept the title of 'father of the Amorites'. His sons made Larsa the leading power of southern Mesopotamia until its fall to Hammurabi.
