Kutama Berbers
The Kutama were a Berber tribal confederation of the mountains of eastern Algeria. Converted by the Ismaili missionary Abu Abdallah al-Shii, they provided the military force that overthrew the Aghlabids and established the Fatimid Caliphate in 909. Kutama troops remained a core element of the Fatimid army in its early period.
