Leine
The Leine is a river in Lower Saxony, Germany, flowing about 280 kilometres north from Thuringia through Göttingen and Hanover to join the Aller. Its valley formed the heart of the Guelph principalities of Göttingen and Calenberg, and the bishops of Hildesheim held lands between it and the Oker.
