Llŷn Peninsula
The Llŷn Peninsula extends about 50 kilometres into the Irish Sea from north-west Wales, in the county of Gwynedd. It has many Iron Age hillforts such as Tre'r Ceiri, and in the Middle Ages it was a pilgrim route to Bardsey Island. Ptolemy's headland of the Gangani is generally placed at its tip, and Welsh remains the everyday language of many of its people.
