Maelor
Maelor was a medieval district of north-east Wales, divided into Maelor Gymraeg, or Welsh Maelor, around Wrexham and Maelor Saesneg, or English Maelor, east of the Dee. It formed part of Powys Fadog, whose prince Gruffydd Maelor took his name from it. Maelor Saesneg later became the detached part of Flintshire.
