Maliseet
The Wolastoqiyik, also known as the Maliseet, are an Algonquian-speaking First Nation of the Saint John River valley in New Brunswick and neighbouring Quebec and Maine. They lived by hunting, fishing and farming, allied with the French and the Wabanaki Confederacy in the colonial wars, and signed peace treaties with the British in the 18th century.
