Manas River
The Manas is a transboundary river of the eastern Himalayan foothills that flows from Bhutan south into Assam, India, where it joins the Brahmaputra. After 1682 it marked the western frontier of the Ahom kingdom against the Mughal Empire. The river gives its name to Manas National Park in India, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and to the adjoining Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan.
