Milcom

Also known as Milkom

Milcom, or Milkom, was the national god of the Ammonites, worshipped in their kingdom east of the Jordan in the Iron Age. His name is related to the Semitic word for 'king', and he appears in Ammonite inscriptions such as the Amman Citadel Inscription. The Bible records that Solomon built a shrine to him near Jerusalem, later destroyed by Josiah.
